  • Mark has over 30 years’ business experience based in the UK and US, working throughout Western Europe and North America. He has held senior roles in company leadership, general management, management consultancy, and technical sales
  • Over the last 19 years Mark has tackled a tremendous variety of consulting challenges in many different industries and across companies ranging from £2m turnover to FTSE 100 plcs. Common themes are the use of flair and ingenuity to develop robust, lasting solutions to tough business problems, and coaching or equipping management teams and staff to perform better, individually and collectively

Project Highlights

Engagements which Mark has worked on include:

  • £350 million plc, client of RSM UK (formerly Baker-Tilly) – diagnosis of post-acquisition problems in 3 business divisions, support on business planning and forecasting to achieve tighter integration
  • Federal-Mogul Aftermarket (UK & Ireland) – process mapping of business functions, specification of performance improvement opportunities, on-going trusted advisor to Managing Director
  • Bollhoff Armstrong – successful piloting and introduction of Lean continuous improvement culture in manufacturing and quality control, including coaching and development of managers, supervisors and teams
  • Network Rail – introduction of intelligent change management processes which rescued failing implementation of automated train planning system
  • BAE Systems – development of playbook for sustainable organisational transformation
  • Syngenta AG – multiple assignments over 6 year period, most notably tackling major post-merger integration challenges; long-term trusted advisor to Global Head of Product Safety/Product Development
  • Hanson plc (part of Heidelberg Cement Group) – pre-acquisition commercial due diligence on target companies in UK and US
  • DCS Group – turnaround of failing subsidiary leading to profitable trade sale
  • Sellafield Limited (formerly British Nuclear Fuels) – support on business planning and development of effective site KPIs integrating financial and operational performance
  • Altana AG – development of global manufacturing strategy, including acquisitions, for plastics compounding division
